Daily Fishing Report

11/24/2011 - I would like to wish all of our clients, friends, and sponsors a happy Thanksgiving. Without you I wouldn't be living my dream!!!

11/22/2011 - The fishing has been decent. We have been averaging a couple of fish a day. Most of the fish have been a little on the dark side. We are right in the middle of a big storm. The forcast is calling for major rains through wednesday night. Hopefully we will be back to fishing by friday. Allthough we are going to miss a few days of fishing, the river needs a good flush. I expect new bright fish when we start fishing again. Keep your lines tight!!!!

11/17/2011 - Well we finally have some water!!! We hooked five and landed two nice kings today. The fishing should improve the next few days. Keep your lines tight!!!

10/30/11- Well we are expecting a little rain this week. Hopefully we get more than forcasted. The lower smith is holding some good numbers, but with low water levels the bite is slow. wLets do the rain dance!!! Keep your lines tight!!!!

10/8/2011 - Check out this monster hooked and landed by young Ryan!! This kid is a great fisherman At eight years old. hopefully he can top this 45# lunker someday. In the album below you will see pics of his first salmon ever, it just happened to be a 30# chromer. as you can see the klamath is still fishing very good!!!! keep your lines tight!!!

9/22/2011 - Well the lower klamath quota has been reached. This doesn't mean that we have to quit fishing, it just means that we will have to release fish that are over 22 inches long. There are still alot of jacks that will be able to be taken and lots of bigger fish to be caught and released.I still have plenty of dates left in october. Let me know if you are interested. keep your lines tight!!!!

8/28/2011 - The fishing remains good, allthough the boats have arrived. It has been crowded over the weekend. Hopefully it will settle down through the week. I still have a few dates open in september, so give me a call if you would like to bend a rod. Keep your lines tight!!!!!

8/16/2011 - The fishing continues to be good. I, on the other hand am wearing out. Between football and fishing I am getting tired. I am taking the weekend off to take my son hunting. Should be fun! I still have some days open next week. Give me a call. Keep your lines tight!!!!!

8/12/2011 - The fishing is as good as it gets!!!! Now is the time. we are hooking double digits everyday. Mostly jacks and small adults with the occasional large adult mixed in. we hooked two different quads today. Yes four at a time!!!! I will post pics soon. Keep your lines tight!!!!!

8/2/2011 - The fishing remains good. We are catching steelhead and jack chinook salmon. Most days we have averaged 8 to 10 bites and landing most of them. keep your lines tight!!!!

7/13/2011 - Its time to start thinking about those summer steelhead!!!! If you need to beat the heat of the valley, and want to bend a rod. Give me a call!!!!

6/19/2011 - The fishing has been a little hit and miss. We hooked three yesterday and lost them all. The day before we were four out of seven by ten thirty, and didnt have a bite the rest of the day. We still have alot of water, and i anticipate that we will be able to fish springers into july. I am off to football camp for a couple days. I will give you a report when i get back. keep your lines tight!!!!!

6/8/2011 - The fishing remains good. We have been getting between five and seven bites a day, and landing a little better than fifty percent of those. I would love to post pics but i killed my camera. (sorry kenny and tracy) I spilled some coffee in my cup holder then put the camera in the holder.I know smart!!!!! keep your lines tight!!!!

6/2/2011 - The fishing continues to improve. we limited out early today with average size springers. good day all in all. keep your lines tight!!!!

5/30/2011 - Hey everyone, Long time no see. well the springers have sprung. The river is still running pretty high, but is producing very well. we averaged about four fish a day this week. the fish have been normal size 12 to 15 pounds. we caught a monster yesterday i figured to be 25 to thirty pounds. i will put pics up soon. keep your lines tight!!!!!

4/11/2011 - the show went pretty good. we met alot of new people and booked a few trips. It was a great time with great people!!!

4/8/2011 - We are headed to chico to do a sport show tomorrow. If you are in the nieborhood, stop by and check us out. the show is at the fair grounds in chico. I will be doing a seminar on stealhead fishing on saturday afternoon. I dont know the exact time. I will update as soon as i know. keep your lines tight

4/1/2011 - well as you can see by the new pics the downers are down!!!! we landed nine stealies today. the weather was great. the river was in great shape. we have a little rain in the forcast for the next couple of days, but i dont think it will effect the river. i have some openings if you want to give it a try. keep your lines tight!!!!

3/24/2011 - yesterday was the first day we were able to fish the smith at a sub ten foot level in a long time. The weather was great other than a pesky south wind in the afternoon. we hooked four and landed all of them. All the fish were downers, but they fought great. I think all hopes of getting out over the weekend are being douced with buckets full of rain. I dont remember the last time it has rained this hard this long. I will let you know as soon as i can get back on the water. keep your lines tight!!!!

3/21/2011 - We got to get out on the river yesterday. The river was still a little pushy , but the color was good. we hooked one nice fish that didnt seem to want to cooperate. It jumped and spit the hook. it was a great day with a great friend. hopefully the rain will let up soon and the river will calm a little to give me a better idea of what is there. keep your lines tight!!!

3/17/2011 - Rain rain go away!!!! i dont know what else to say. just about the time the river comes into shape we get another couple of inches. the forcast is the river should be fishable by the weekend. we shall see. i would love to tell you the river is full of fish, but i dont know. i will fish as soon as the river lets me. stay tuned for the report. keep your lines tight!!!

3/9/2011 - well i am reno for a coaches clinic. I will be back on saturday. I have alot of open dates left in march. If you havnt had your stealhead fix for the winter you better get on it. the river is high as of now,but i expect next week to fish great. keep your lines tight!!!

2/16/2011 - Well the rains have come. Allthough it seems that its in the form of ice. brrrrr. the smith should fish good through the weekend. early reports from the plunkers are great. keep your lines tight!!!!!

1/23/2011 - the fishing is decent. yesterday we got a great surprise with a twenty pounder. Tim sothman of montrose colorado did a great job hooking and landing the monster. tim caught his first stealhead ever on the 20th at 88 years young. he also made mention that the ones on the wall were way to big and he didnt want to fuss with one of them. well tim you got your wall hanger buddie!!! The fish was 39 inches long and had a twenty inch girth. it wieghed 20.4 pounds on my handheld scale. we released the big native after a great photo sesion unharmed. nice job tim. keep your lines tight!!

1/18/2011 - The river got pretty big day before yesterday but dropped in to plunking level yesterday. We fished out of the power boat below the 101 bridge. We had several bites throughout the day. We landed three including a hatchery hen about ten pounds. BONUS!!! The river should be in great shape for the next few days. Keep your lines tight!!!

1/15/2011 - The river dropped in nice today. we hooked five and landed two. Gotta love barbless hooks. I do believe today was the most crowded day so far this year. With more rain in the forcast the conditions are a little unpredictable, but the river is full of fish. Keep your lines tight!!!

1/9/2011 - M.O.S. Meaning morre of the same. We hooked six and landed two today. For whatever reason they just wont stay buttoned up. I think the weather was colder today. Its been a long time since I have seen ice on my second run. Back at it tomorrow. Keep your lines tight!!!

1/7/2011 - The fishing continues to be good. We have been averaging five hookups a day. The river is getting super low and clear, but continues to produce. Tthe bad news is that there aren't many hatchery fish. The weather is cold and windy in the morning but warms up nice in the afternoon. Keep your lines tight!!!!

1/3/2011 - The fishing continues to be good. The river is dropping in nice and the flows are getting more manageable by the minute. We hooked five and landed three yesterday. All natives between eight and ten pounds. As the weekend pressure decreases I think the numbers will increase. Keep your lines tight!!!

12/27/2010 - As you can see by the photos the fishing was pretty good. We hooked for stealhead and landed two, before the smaller fish were over shadowed by the huge salmon. Hopefully the foercast is incorrect and we can keep on fishin. Keep your lines tight!!!

1/4/2010 - .Well the river was what I would consider in perfect condition today. We hooked five and landed three. The biggest being about fifteen or sixteen pounds. This fish was as hot of a fish as I have ever seen. It took sixty yards of line on the hookset, and was out of the water six or seven times. We are seeing a mixed bag of hatchery and natives, and it seemed that most of the fishermen had simular success.

1/3/2010 - The river fished well today. It sounded like about two fish to the boat average. We hooked three and landed all of them. The river was a little pushy this morning but is dropping in very nicely. See ya tomorrow!!!!

1/2/2010 - Well the river is coming into shape perfectly. Today it sounded like the plunkers had a great day. The river should be at about 12 feet on the upper gauge by morning, and from the reports I got today should be full of fish. Fish on!!!!

12/31/2009 - The fishing is great. We were nine for eleven today, with the biggest being about 15#s. The river is going to blow out tonight but should be fishable by Sunday.
